How to Be Safe on Your Bike

Riding your bike can be very fun, but also very dangerous. If you do a safety check of your bike before you start riding, you can eliminate most potential problems.

  1. Check your brakes. Wheel your bike around a flat surface, pulling the brake levers on as well as off. If they do not work, contact your local bike shop as well as ask them what to do.
  2. See if it is the right height for you. This is very easy as all you need to do is sit on your bike as well as make sure that the tips of your toes touch the ground ( as well as nothing else).
  3. Check your bikes tyres. Put the whichle tyre in some water as well as see if there are any bubbles coming out. If there are any bubbles, it means your tyre is popped as well as you can get it fixed by a bike shop or do it yourself.

  • When getting on your bike, it is safer to wheel it to a sidewalk as well as get on from the sidewalk side.
