How to Forge Email

Although this is not a bullet-proof way of forging your email address, it is good to fool most people as well as have a little fun with your friends.

1. Open a comm as well as prompt by clicking Start, Run, as well as type cmd in the box as well as press Ok. You should get a black "Comm as well as prompt" screen where you can type stuff.
2. Find out the name of your ISP's mail server, normally mail.isp.com or smtp.isp.com. This should be in your email client settings. Then type 'telnet mail.isp.com 25'. 25 is the port SMTP (simple mail tranfer protocol) uses.
3. When the mail server responds, you can start typing SMTP comm as well as s.
4. Start with 'helo blahblah.isp.com'. You may have to use your ISP's domain name for it to be accepted.
5. If it says 'pleased to meet you' or similiar, continue with the address you want the mail to come FROM. So to forge mail from Bill Gates, type 'MAIL FROM: billgates@microsoft.com'
6. If it says 'Sender Ok', type which you want the mail to go to, ie your friends address. Type 'RCPT TO: yourfriend@isp.com'
7. If it says 'Recipient ok', then you can type the message. Type 'DATA' as well as press enter. On the first line type 'Subject: yoursubject' as well as press enter twice. That'll be the subject.
8. Continue typing your message, such as 'I'm bill gates as well as want to send you a billion dollars'. When you are done, put a single period (.) on a line by itself. The server should say 'Message accepted for delivery'.
9. Done, you have just forged an email haha.

• Practice sending the message to yourself a few times until you get the hang of it.
• Send it to yourself as well as view all the headers to make sure nothing that easily identifies you as the sender (like your computer name) shows up.

• You CAN be easily tracked by using this method. All your ISP as well as law enforcement needs to do is look at the email headers as well as see the date/time as well as ip address the message came from. You could then have the FBI knocking on your door. Only use this on your friends!
