How to Speed up Firefox
Using this tutorial, you will be able to speed up firefox using the about:config comm as well as !
- Type "about:config" into the address bar as well as click go.
- Scroll down to find the entries: network.http.pipelining, network.http.proxy.pipelining, network.http.pipelining.maxrequests.(Normally the browser will make one request to a webpage at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.)
- Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true". Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true". Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
- Right-click anywhere on the screen as well as select New-> Integer.
- Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay"(without quotes) as well as set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
- Shut down your browser as well as reopen it. You shouldn't notice much of a difference right away. But get browsing some of your usual sites as well as you should notice a much faster connection to the site!
- Alter the numbers to see which works best for you!
- If you feel a little awkward with modifying coding, you can have something similar to this done with the Fasterfox Extension
- Another tuner is Firetune from Total Idea
- This may not work on connections that are over 1mb.
- Do not edit anything if you don't know what it does!
- The Firefox browser
