How to Adjust the Length of Time the Garage Door Opener Light Stays on

i have an "allister ii a" garage door opener and the light does not stay on long enough. i want to adjust the length of time it stays on, but i don't want to break anything. i have the same garage door opener for the other door in my garage and it stays on longer so i know the time is adjustable.
