How to Change the Fuse in a GE Microwave
Changing the fuse in a microwave is simple. Basically, you get the fuse as well as pull it out. Go to the store as well as buy another one. Then, place it in the same hole you pulled the old one from.
- Remove the electrical plug from the socket.
- Check for a blown out fuse.
- Pull out the blown out fuse.
- Buy another fuse.
- Insert the new fuse into the empty hole.
All microwave ovens operate at potentially lethal voltages of 2000 volts or more as well as this voltage may still be present even after the oven has been unplugged from the wall receptacle. Microwave ovens contain oil-filled capacitors which stores this voltage even after the oven is unplugged. These capacitors have bleeder resistors across them that bleed off their charge over a short period of time, but it could prove to be a fatal mistake to put your faith in these resistors to be present as well as functioning properly. Be very, very careful what you touch when replacing the fuse.
