How to Clean a Ceramic Sink Without Chemicals

Household cleaning products are full of toxic chemicals which can be harmful to you as well as the environment. Here is a cheap way of cleaning your bathroom sink using natural ingredients.

  1. Buy some bicarbonate of soda (sodium bicarbonate) as well as a bottle of white vinegar. Bicarbonate of soda can be found in the baking section of your local grocery or supermarket.
  2. Put the plug in the sink.
  3. Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda around the sink, concentrating mainly on the hard to clean areas with limescale build-up as well as greasy marks.
  4. Pour on a small amount of white vinegar as well as watch it fizz.
  5. Take a clean sponge or scourer as well as gently work the mixture into the surface. You will soon begin to see the limescale as well as scuff marks lift from the surface.
  6. Rinse clean with cold water.
  7. Your sink will now be sparkling clean.

  • You can get small children to help you with this - they love watching the bicarbonate of soda start to fizz when you add the vinegar.
  • You can also use the mixture to clean the taps but make sure you remove all the mixture afterwards with plenty of clean water.

  • Make sure you wash your h as well as s afterwards. You don't want to rub vinegar in your eyes.
