How to Clean a Dull Stainless Steel Sink

Does your sink make you cringe? Is it old as well as dingy? Take heart! A shiny sink can be the beginning of a clean kitchen. Let's begin!

  1. Take all your dishes out of the sink.
  2. Rinse.
  3. Fill your sink with really hot water, all the way up, please.
  4. Add 1 cup of bleach to the water.
  5. Wait 1 hour.
  6. Pull the plug as well as drain the sink.
  7. Rinse.
  8. Using cleanser, scrub down the sink. You can use any household cleanser or baking soda.
  9. Rinse.
  10. To buff your stainless steel, now use an SOS pad.
  11. Rinse.
  12. Being careful not to scratch your countertops, use something with a sharp edge to go around the outside of your sink.
  13. Use an old toothbrush or some dental floss to go around your faucet.
  14. Rinse.
  15. For a final shine, use some glass cleaner.

  • Only do one side of your sink at a time.
  • To keep your sink looking fabulous, wipe it down with a towel each time you use it. This will keep water spots from forming.
  • Remember, the dishwasher or a dishpan is the place for dirty dishes - not your sink.

  • If you use your h as well as s to pull the plug, you'll have to remove some of the water first. Otherwise, you'll overflow. Using tongs to pull the plug will not overflow your sink.
