How to Apply Corpsepaint
"Corpsepaint" is a specific style of makeup, the purpose of which is to look like a corpse. It is a favorite among black metal b as well as s such as Dimmu Borgir as well as Cradle of Filth, as well as individuals which are part of the goth/punk scene.
- Apply a thin layer of "white heat," or any other white-ish concealer, on your face. Make sure you use enough to make you seem at least two shades lighter than your natural skin tone.
- Liberally apply either red or burgundy eyeshadow around your eyes. There should be enough to cover the entire space between your eyebrow as well as eyelash. Apply a reasonable amount beneath your eye.
- Apply a thick layer of black eyeliner around your eyes. It helps to bring out the eyeshadow as well as your natural eyebrows.
- Black lipstick is optional. If this is ignored, at least make an effort to mute the color of your lips.
- Take care to dab your jaw line as well as neck with white heat, lighter as you go down your neck.
- A sponge is very useful in applying the white heat. To avoid the caked-on look, go over it with a large makeup brush as well as white powder.
- Decorative swirls can be drawn stemming from the bottom eyelid as well as outer corner of eyes for a glam/Victorian goth look.
- Observe or research the techniques of rockers such as Dani Filth, Gerard Way, Shagrath, etc.
- For thin eyebrows, apply more eyebrow liner than usual.
- Don't forget to cover your eyelids.
- Unless you plan on doing your entire body, wear long-sleeved, black shirts with high collars.
- Remember, you want to look like a corpse, not a clown!
