How to Apply False Eyelashes

False eyelashes come in in many different colors, shapes, as well as sizes. Wearing them can make you feel glamorous, darling!

  1. Take the eyelashes out of the packaging carefully. Some false eyelashes can be very delicate.
  2. Pour a small amount of glue/adhesive onto a sheet of aluminum foil. Recommended adhesives, sold in Britain, include Duo Adhesive (GBP 5, or about US$9) or M.A.C. (GBP 7, or about US$13). The key to good-looking lashes is decent glue/adhesive, so make sure you spend your money on the glue. Cheap ones are a waste of time.
  3. Pick up the lashes with tweezers as well as dip the base of the lashes into the glue.
  4. Blow gently on the glue to make it tacky. The lashes will stick to your eyelid better.
  5. Hover the false eyelashes over the eye as well as slowly place the them in the outer corner first, making sure they are the right size for your eyes. Hold them in place for a couple of seconds (or until the glue is quite dry), then continue attaching the eyelashes towards the inner corner in the same way.
  6. Remove the eyelashes before removing the rest of your make-up. Don't tug roughly on them, as you could remove some real lashes as well! If they do not respond to gentle pulling, wet a washcloth with warm water as well as hold it over the lashes to loosen the glue. Store the lashes in their original packaging, so they do not loose their shape as well as you can reuse them.

  • If the fake eyelashes are too long, you can trim them so that they look more natural. But, don't trim them while they are on your eyes. At best, you might cut off your natural eyelashes, as well as at worst, you might injure your eye as well as go blind. Don't risk it - trim the eyelashes before you put them on.
  • For a more dramatic effect, apply eyelashes on the bottom of your eyes as well.
  • Look for black eyelash glue at your local pharmacy or beauty supply store. It makes goofs look like eyeliner.
  • Try to attach the false eyelashes as close to your real lashes as possible.
  • Go easy on the glue so that it does not build up on the false eyelashes or clump up your real eyelashes as well as leak into your eye. A thin strip across the b as well as should do it. You can remove excess glue with a cotton bud once the lashes are in place.

  • If false eyelash glue gets in your eyes, don't worry. Just rest your eyes for a while. If they get too bad, take the eyelashes off as well as wash your eyes out. After drying, you may be able to apply the eyelashes again.
