How to Apply Make up So You Look Good
Do you do a poor job of applying your makeup in the morning? Then read this!
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, then apply toner as well as lotion. Toner is optional, but washing as well as lotion are critical.
- Apply your foundation. Even if you're among the lucky few which don't have pimples, blemishes, or scars, use foundation to even out your tone.
- Dab concealer on blemishes as well as pimples, taking care to blend the concealer into the foundation. Always apply concealer after foundation.
- Dip a big brush into either your compact or box of loose powder (loose powder is preferable). Shake off any excess powder, than then dust your face using a light touch to achieve all-over coverage.
- To apply eye shadow correctly, use three different colors, but from the same color family. (Example: light blue, medium blue, dark blue).
- Use the lightest shade as highlighter. Apply it under your eyebrow. Use just a little; a faded color will work. Try mixing it with white to fade it more.
- Brush the darkest shade of eye-shadow under that, on the fold of the eye-lid. Then, apply the medium shade on the crease of your eye.
- Put on eyeliner. If you have small eyes, use white or a very light shade on the inside part of your bottom eye, then a darker one, like brown, on the outer side, just beneath your bottom lashes.
- Apply two coats of mascara.
- Smile so that you can see the apples of your cheeks -- that's where you apply blush. Suck in your cheeks as well as spread the blush back towards your ears.
- Lips: some women prefer to use lip gloss before lipstick, because it tones down the color a bit. Using a lip liner first is optional.
- This routine should take up to ten minutes. Take your time, especially with your foundation, concealer, as well as blush.
- If you over-do eye makeup, you can just wipe it off, but you'll have to start all over again if you use too much blush or too much foundation.
- You don't have to use blush if you don't need it.
- For some skin tones, green concealer underneath foundation can work great. Apply it with a light touch.
- Don't put on too much foundation! Concealer will hide blemishes as well as pimples. The foundation is to just even out the tone.
- Make sure you brush your teeth before you apply lip gloss as well as /or lipstick.
- Makeup brushes. (Blush, eye shadow, etc,. etc.)
